Tyler Karow

pastathletes

Tyler is a climber, skier, civil engineer, and general contractor living in Truckee, California who mostly splits his time between rock and working to build minimalistic forms of housing. He is particularly enthused about climbing long and steep routes on aesthetic formations in beautiful places. Tyler’s climbing accomplishments include a free ascent of El Capitan via Golden Gate, three El Cap speed records, summiting many of the major peaks of the Chaltén Massif including Cerro Chaltén (Fitz Roy) and Cerro Torre, and numerous other big wall accents around the world. Tyler is a board member and the treasurer of Farm to Crag and enjoys bringing people together for absurd adventures and good meals. Tyler occasionally ventures out into the realm of vertical ice, always seeming to enjoy it while simultaneously threatening to retire from it after every climb.
