UPCC Board Anchor Class

SkillsTrack

This indoor 2-hr clinic is focused on setting up top rope anchors for ice climbing, with some review of multipitch anchors towards the end of the session.  We will first review the physics behind a solid anchor, then cover anchors using natural features like trees, and placed protection, such as ice-screws, and also go over bolted anchor stations, such as those seen in ice parks, like at Sandstone, Winona and Ouray.  Participants should bring their harnesses and personal gear, and be prepared to get lots of practice setting up anchors, primarily using static lines, but also reviewing other anchoring materials.  Each participant will receive a UPCC Board to take home and continue to master their skills! A portion of the proceeds will go to the UPCC to help protect access to Upper Peninsula crags.

$125 per person.
