Andres Marin is a highly accomplished alpinist whose passion for climbing has taken him to some of the most remote and challenging corners of the world. He first discovered his love for the sport at the age of 14 while climbing in the Cordillera Central of Colombia, and has since dedicated his life to pursuing it as a full-time lifestyle.
With a desire for adventure that knows no bounds, Andres has climbed in many countries across the globe, including Nepal, Pakistan, Peru, Alaska, China, and Kyrgyzstan. He is particularly drawn to alpine climbing in a light and fast style, which allows him to explore and establish first ascents in some of the most breathtaking and uncharted landscapes on earth.
While mountain climbing is his main passion, Andres also finds joy in rock, ice, mixed, and big wall climbing. He is a seasoned ice climbing competitor, having stood on the podium in many competitions over the course of eight years. He represented both the US and Colombia in five world cups and two championships, which has earned him a reputation as a highly skilled and accomplished athlete in the sport.
In addition to pushing his own limits and achieving remarkable feats in the world of mountaineering, Andres is deeply committed to giving back to his community and inspiring the next generation of climbers. He is a certified rock and alpine AMGA guide and mountain rescue technician, and takes great joy in sharing his knowledge and experience with both local and greater communities.
Design and problem solving is another passion of Andres’s, and he enjoys working closely with our design team to create the world’s best outdoor gear, following the core ethos of Athlete- tested, Expedition-proven. Whether he is scaling a steep mountain face, mentoring young climbers, or designing innovative new gear, Andres is a true force to be reckoned with in the world of alpinism.
