Much like the rest of the Midwest, the Upper Peninsula was just hammered with a holiday ‘Cyclone Bomb” which dumped nearly 24 inches of snow in the Munising area. The tree are blanketed in snow, some trees came down over trails, and the backcountry access will be through some deep drifts. We did run into an Indiana climber yesterday who boot packed out to Sweet Mother Moses so the Lakeshore trail is somewhat packed that far! Contined cold temperature have healed up many of the higher flow climbs after last weeks warm weather. All in all we are very thankful for the current ice climbing conditions!
We hope our extended Ice Fest Family has a wonderful holiday season and that you are able to get out with friends and family for some outdoor fun. If you are planning to come up this holiday week here is a quick update on a few of the front country climbs.
