At Michigan Ice we take pride in being your go to site for current ice climbing conditions for Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore as well as climbs throughout the Upper Peninsula. Planning a trip to Pictured Rocks? We have you covered for all the latest snow and ice conditions on all of your favorite climbs. Check back often for updates, pictures, and trip reports!
The Michigan Ice Fest staff/volunteers headed over to Munising this weekend for some training and ice time before the fest. It was nice to see a lot of our Ice Fest friends getting on some nice pre fest ice! Speaking of temps have cooperated and ice conditions are excellent!

All formations that were running with ice and thin top outs have reformed and several of them saw ascents this past weekend including Giddy Up, Sweet Mother Moses and The Dryer Hose.

While the mainland climbs are in excellent shape Grand Island is still accessible via public access launch to the dock on Grand Island. Climbers can ski of snowmobiel via the inland trail system to access climbs on the West Shore. The East Channel remains closed due to unstable ice. Many of you I’m sure have heard that 4 snowmobiles fell through the ice on Friday. As always use extreme caution when traveling on the lake ice and please check with locals before attempting any crossing as conditions change daily.

We are in the final stages of planning for Ice Fest and it looks like our extended weather forecast is perfect for continuing to produce perfect ice conditions!
