Our home for the Michigan Ice Festival has always been Munising, a quaint town nestled on the southern shore of Lake Superior.  The town features several unique shops offering climbers and their families a taste of good ole middle America.  The following businesses are strong supporters of our event, so after your climb stop in and say hello and thank them for helping to make Munising and the Ice Fest so special!

Falling Rock Cafe

We are a locally owned coffee shop and café conveniently located in downtown Munising; a perfect location for both travelers and residents. We provide free wireless internet, homemade food with vegan and gluten-free options, flavored coffee and gourmet tea, and yes, we do have delicious Jilbert’s Dairy Ice Cream! From the local artist exhibits, to the live music and events that inspire us, to the thousands of hand-selected books among the shelves, the Falling Rock Café is much more than the comfy atmosphere, the delicious food, and the custom roasted coffee we serve. Our home is Munising, MI. Our heart is the Falling Rock Café. We hope you enjoy your visit!

UP Scale Art

UP~Scale Art is a retail gallery and arts center located in the city of Munising in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.  Munising is most well known as the gateway to the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore Park which boasts breathtaking views of mineral stained cliffs and rock formations unique to the area.

UP~Scale Art is owned and operated by the Munising Bay Arts Association, LLC.  The retail gallery is a cooperative opportunity for local and regional artisans to exhibit and sell their art.  We offer both working and non-working commissioned contracts.

 

The Duck Pond Eatery and Beer Garden

Visit “The Duck Pond”, a kayaker’s hangout in the summer , winter sports enthusiast’s and trail riders  in the winter, and a great place to plan, relax, or unwind after a fantastic day paddling or climbing at Pictured Rocks or exploring the many natural wonders that abound in the area.

Looking for a quick lunch to pack for a day out on the ice?  Hit up Subway before you hop on the Ice Fest shuttle.  Quick, healthy and a proud supporter of the Fest!

Shooters Brew Pub

Owners Pat and Victoria Gariepy and Donna Kolbus wanted to create a place for local patrons and visitors to our beautiful area to relax and unwind. Built in a converted car wash, Shooters Firehouse Brewpub is an homage to our wonderful volunteer fire department. We proudly feature craft beer brewed on the premises making Shooters the only brewpub in the Munising area. Inside the pub features hi-def televisions, internet jukebox, a balcony area available for private parties and live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. Conveniently located in downtown Munising, behind Pizza Hut across from the fire hall, we are easily within walking distance from the in town hotels and have ample parking for our visitors passing through.  (Also home to the Wednesday night after party!)

East Channel Brewery

Located in beautiful Munising, Michigan, East Channel Brewing Company was founded in 2016. We aim to provide tasty brews and a friendly atmosphere. So if you’re in town checking out all Munising has to offer, stop in for a pint and some good company. We’ll be happy to have ya. Cheers! (Also home to the Thursday night after party!)
