You’ve registered for the Michigan Ice Fest 2016! Here is some information you might find useful:

Check In

Check In is at the American Legion Hall in down town Munising on Tuesday from 4-9pm or anytime after. When you arrive at the American Legion Hall you will NOT have to wait in line. Just come on in and pick up your registration wrist band and raffle ticket.

CLASSES

Please be aware.  If you signed up for a class you will have demo gear for the day of your class ONLY. If you want demo gear for the rest of the weekend you will need to pay the Demo Fee.

If you have signed up for classes please be prepared to climb in Lake Superior region. The weather is cold (this ain’t Colorado) so please be dressed appropriately. Feel free to bring warm drinks and a lunch. All classes will also meet at the American Legion Hall. Please be early to your class. If you need climbing gear we will provide it for you.

Useful things to bring :

  • Warm Clothing- dress in layers
  • Food
  • Warm Drinks
  • Hand or Toe Warmers
  • 2-3 Pair of Gloves.  One pair of heavy weight gloves to stand around and belay.  Two lighter pairs to climb in.
  • Camera
  • Personal First Aid Kit
  • Back Pack
  • If you have a harness or helmet you can bring it!

All classes will meet at the American Legion Hall.  You should meet there at 8am if you need demo gear.  The class officially starts at 9am and we will head out to the climbing areas via a shuttle system.  Please be ready to leave at 9am.  There are restroom facilities at the Legion Hall but none at the climbing area.

STORE

Down Wind Sports will have a store selling all sorts of climbing equipment and clothing. There will be a discount of 20% off all equipment including special orders for all registered participants. The store will be located in the American Legion and will be open early and close late! If you know what you want and would like your gear to be waiting for you when you get to Munising, give us a call. We’ll give you the 20% off and have it ready when you arrive.
