New for the 2016 Michigan Ice Fest, we are super stoked to offer an amazing clinic- a Michigan Ice Fest Back Country Adventure! Join MIF veteran, and local guide book author Jon Jugenheimer on this full day back country adventure of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore. Jon has spent an enormous amount of time exploring the deep dark recesses of PRNL and is a wealth of information on local ice routes and history
This class is designed to introduce the intermediate ice climber to some of the larger formations along Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore / Grand Island. Students will review proper use of gear and equipment and will be shown different techniques and when to use them. If your goal is to progress as both an ice climber and tick off a few of the area’s classic routes then this is the program for you. Upon entering this class the student must have knowledge of the basic gear and techniques including rappelling, associated with ice climbing.
