Being a small town in the Upper Peninsula, Munising has a few notable places to refuel after a hard day of climbing.  When in town be sure to check out these local favorites for food and refreshments.  These local food service businesses are strong supporters of the Michigan Ice Fest!


A name that pays tribute to a close friendship between Tom & Stephen Tracey- “Tracey’s” focuses on local farm-to-table ingredients. Our service and presentation-to-table are very well executed. We look forward to serving you at this ‘unique’ fine dining establishment!


Eh! Burger

It is a chef hand-crafted quick casual restaurant in Munising MI serving burgers and fresh whitefish and is one of our go to post climbing spots!

Johnny Dogs

Best Little Hot Dog & Burger Joint in the Whole U.P.!!! We only use Our Housemade Meats & Sauces, Shelter Bay Tomatoes Vegetables, & Fresh Baked Bread. Everything is fresh! We do daily specials, and they go super fast! We are experimenting around with our brand new gigantic smoker and it is going pretty well. We have been doing ribs, chicken, pork, turkey, and anything you can think of pretty much!  Come check us out! We promise it’s worth it!


The Duck Pond

Visit “The Duck Pond”, a kayaker’s hangout in the summer , winter sports enthusiast’s and trail riders  in the winter, and a great place to plan, relax, or unwind after a fantastic day paddling the Pictured Rocks or exploring the many natural wonders that abound in the area.


The Falling Rock Cafe

The Falling Rock Cafe is a locally owned cafe with over 30,000 new and used books in house. There is  free Wi-Fi   Internet in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere complete with homemade food and the best dang coffee in town!  Be sure to check in with the cafe as they occasionally have live music.



A trip to Muldoons for their award winning pasty (pronounced pass-tee) is a must if you are visiting Munising. Voted #1 in the Upper Peninsula, Muldoons offers traditional and vegetarian pasties that are sure to provide a hot and delicious meal any time of day.

Shooters Brew Pub

Located in the heart of the Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, Shooters Firehouse Brewpub, they offer a great selection of beers.



387, located in downtown Munising, was the perennial host of the Michigan Ice Fest since its inception.  Wonderful hospitality and good food always greet climbers as they depart the climbs of Pictured Rocks.  At 387, they have a menu that caters to just about everyone! They offer full breakfast, lunch and dinner menus that include delicious omelets, sandwiches, burgers, steaks and fresh Lake Superior whitefish. Want to kick back and tell war stories of the day’s climbing?  Be sure to check out the Shark Bay Bar located in 387.  They have the largest selection of import and domestic beers in the area, a perfect ending for a day of climbing.
