Jeff Lowe’s Metanoia – Official Trailer (HD) from Jeff Lowe on Vimeo.

From the top of the world to the end of the line, this film follows the life and climbs of legendary alpinist Jeff Lowe. From his visionary ascents around the world, through his rise to the top of his sport, to his devastating fall from grace that precipitated perhaps the boldest solo mountain climb in history. Jeff’ s “ unimaginable” new route, Metanoia – solo, in winter, straight up the North Face of the Eiger – changed his life and prepared him for the greatest adventure he’ s ever been on. 23 years later, New York Times best selling author, Jon Krakauer narrates this film and shares his own dramatic account of Jeff’ s climb along with esteemed mountain writer David Roberts, as they witnessed the climb from on the ground and in the air, while on assignment for the debut issue of a new magazine, Men’s Journal, in 1991. Jeff’ s best climbs were artistic, creative visions beyond the general thinking of the day, conceived in passion, born out of love. He was not motivated by any competitive desire to achieve recognition or to make a name for himself.“I have always been “dizzy with the vision”–it’s why I am satisfied now, without climbing – I have really lived through my visions; been expanded by the process and count myself a very lucky man, still growing and learning…”— Jeff Lowe Choosing love over fear and embracing reality, Jeff‘ s indomitable spirit and sense of humor defy the odds as he slowly loses his physical abilities and faces his own mortality. His practice of living in the present moment carries him into a future he thought he could not have. Jeff defies the odds and embraces new possibilities. He is listening to the music of his soul, which becomes a symphony of light and love.

The location of the film will be in the historic Mather Auditorium in downtown Munising. Date and time of the film will be announced shortly.
