Gallery Coffee Company- Visiting Climbing Artist!

When you pull into Munising this winter don’t be surprised if you smell the sweet smell of of fresh coffee brewing!  The Gallery Coffee company, conveniently located near Down Wind Sports, is a full renovation of 8000 square feet of amazing commercial space in downtown Munising, re-imagined as a large format photo gallery, music venue and local roasting cafe.

Restored original hardwood floors, restored original tin ceilings – and new, modern touches. The Coffee/Photo gallery will be featuring well known photographers from across the Great Lakes region as well as the Michigan Ice Fest visiting artist.

Many consider the performance of climbing as an art form in itself, so it only seems natural to bring a climbing artist to Ice Fest highlighting our new program Artist on Ice.  Look for a  gallery showing, morning coffee talk, live art, and more!  We are excited to announce our first visiting artist will be Craig Muderlak.

Craig Muderlak

Craig is an artist and mountain guide living in Washington State. For over 20 years, Muderlak has been climbing throughout the Western U.S and abroad. He has put up multiple first-ascents in Alaska and has assisted a paraplegic climber climb El Capitan.
For Muderlak, climbing and creativity go hand-in-hand. His work is an expression of the obsession, yearning, and pro- found experiences he associates with expansive landscapes and adventure. Muderlak relies on the wilderness and adventure for his sense of identity, its restorative properties, and for fostering his community; and he utilizes his work to interpret this visceral connection.
