Michigan Ice Fest is getting Semi Rad this year with noted author Brendan Leonard coming to Munising for a series of presentations and book signings. Haven’t read Sixty Meters to Anywhere yet? Ice Fest weekend will give you the opportunity to hear it from the horses mouth so to speak as Brendan will be giving presentations and book signings at both the Falling Rock Cafe and Bookstore, as well as at Michigan Ice Fest headquarters!
Denver-based Brendan Leonard is most known for the funny and inspirational adventure essays he’s published on Semi-Rad.com since 2011, but his path to the mountains started in a much darker place. Join him for a “motivational stand-up comedy show” inspired by his new book Sixty Meters to Anywhere, one of Amazon’s “Best Books of the Year So Far” in 2016.
“Ultimately, this is a book about finding an identity, and that is a universal story” –Gear Junkie
Leonard’s writing has appeared in Backpacker, Outside, Men’s Journal, High Country News, Adventure Cyclist and dozens of other publications. He is a contributing editor at Adventure Journal and the podcast The Dirtbag Diaries, and he has co-written and coproduced films that have won awards at the Banff Mountain Film Festival and the 5Point Film Festival.
“I think we all need to spend more time doing things we love, going to places that make us feel small, remembering to laugh at ourselves, and getting a little cold, tired, and scared every once in a while.” Join Brendan for a motivation and inspirational tale, Sixty Meters to Anywhere, as Brendan shares his personal journey. Expect to laugh, learn, and to be inspired.
