Welcome Ice Climbers!

Welcome to Munising, land of snow and ice. Thank you for attending this year’s Michigan Ice Festival. We’ve done our best to roll out the red carpet during your stay. Our community is blessed with an abundance of the most beautiful public land in the Midwest. Those of us who live near “Mother Superior” bask in the long blue edge of summer when it’s warm, but in winter we embrace the north wind and the ice and snow it brings. By Sunday you’ll agree that this is truly a winter wonderland. But Munising’s greatest asset is not the cliffs or the lake or the island or the forest. It’s the people who are fortunate enough to call this place home. Trust the locals. They will not steer you wrong. We take great pride in our hospitality so if you need something, just ask. And thanks again for coming.

Mayor Rod DesJardins
